About
Talk My Recipe

Welcome! I made this app in my spare time to help my mum. She's an amazing cook with incredible home recipes but they aren't written down anywhere. I wanted a way to capture them easily and pass them down through the generations.

Talk My Recipe allows anyone to digitise their recipes without any tech savviness. It is designed entirely with ease of use in mind, regardless of your experience with technology.

You simply say your recipe out loud, the way you already know it, and your recipe will be transformed into an easy to follow format that will be kept forever. Add a photo, make any tweaks, and share it with a link.

You can also save recipes that people have sent you so that you have one place for all your family and friend recipes.

Share the app with your loved ones too so they can capture their precious heirlooms!

Frequently asked questions

Why does this app exist?+

Because the best recipes usually live in someone's head, not on paper. This is a simple way to capture them in the cook's own words before they're lost.

What makes it different?+

You don't fill in forms. You talk, the way you'd explain a dish to a friend, and it comes back as a tidy recipe card you can keep, tweak and share.

Do I need to be good with technology?+

No. If you can press a button and talk, you can use it. Everything saves by itself, the writing can be made bigger, and recipes can be read out loud while you cook.

Who owns the recipes?+

You do. They're private to your account unless you choose to send someone a link, and you can delete any recipe, or your whole account, whenever you like.

Is it meant to be used with family?+

Very much so. Share a link with anyone and they can read it without signing up, and keep the ones sent to you all in one place.

I need help with something specific.+

Tap the Help button on any page for step by step guides on recording, editing, photos and sharing. Each answer can be read out loud too.
